Working Like a Crazy Woman

Yes, I have been making and publishing lenses like a house afire. I worked hard this week and today I worked ALL DAY and into this evening in order to get some of the new lenses I had started to the publishing stage. It takes about 20 hours of work to get a lens finished. That is a conservative estimate. I work hard to try to produce something with plenty of content and research. sometimes, it is the search for copy right available graphics that take up so much time. I use the creative license photos from flickr quite a bit.

Well... what has been published you ask?

• Red Rose Petals was just finished this evening
• February 14th is Valentine's Day was published earlier today.
• National Cherry Pie Day published yesterday or so
• Garden Teapots yesterday.

This represented a terrific amount of work, since most of them were not worked on earlier. Sometimes I take my time adding in content and working on a lens, but these four were worked on pretty much top to finish. Except the Garden Teapot lens, which I think I had briefly worked on soon after I brainstormed the name.

I still have 40 WIP to finish. One is a Christmas lens that dropped into nether land. Too many ideas and not enough time! In th emeantime I have also finished a number of Quests, so it has been a busy couple weeks at Squidoo for me.

My friend Joanne joined Squidoo today- welcome Joanne! If she likes it and writes lenses I know they'll be great ( but I miss her contributions to my garden blog.)

Mostly I Write About Gardens

Although this blog is for Squidoo related posts, my main occupation is to write for my garden website. Of course, I get all enthused about something and spend loads of time on it, like making lots of lenses and try to get lensrank to move higher, but in the ed my main writing efforts tend to be garden articles.

That said, here is what I've written recently:

Besides the lenses ( I'm now up to 46 published ones, with more in the works), I won't be able to keep up the pace, but I'm writing like a house afire lately.

I am making lenses

Hopefully that will become something that supplements my income, but if not, at least I am learning quite a bit of new information in the process.

If you would like an introduction to what Ilona1 on Squidoo is about ... I have my lens that introduces the wide ranging internet presence of ... Ilona1. The REAL Ilona1, not the counterfeits that took the blogspot subdomain. Somebody did the reverse with ilonagarden... they have the domain name even though they aren't "Ilona" and they don't have a garden.... and it postdated the time I made the blogspot blog. That is why I have ilonasgarden.com as the domain for my garden site. At first it bothered me, but now I am glad it has the "s" in it...spelled just like it is named.

I'm not mad about this name poaching, but it shows that there are those who want to capitalize on the work you are doing to build your blogs and sites.
