Today I published my lens on pie cherries, which is a cooking lens. It has recipes for some of my favorite recipes, next to the chocolate desserts, cherries are the best!
The thing about pie cherries is that they compliment meat and vegetables as well as desserts and cakes. A Summer menu is included along with recipes for a cherry meat sauce and a cherry spinach salad with cherry vinaigrette. I assure you that is not overdoing the sour cherries since they have different flavor and texture as they interact in the different types of food recipes.
Here is a true confession: that famous Hungarian recipe for cherry soup? I have never tried it, even though I remember my Grandfather slurping it up for breakfast when I visited my Grandparent's house. It didn't appeal to my tastes or ideas of what tasted good when I was a kid. I don't know what I would think of it now. My grandfather always had a sour cherry tree in the yard to grow a supply of his beloved tart charries.
